Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero has been an actress and model in America for a number of years. Her most famous work is the main character in the 1984 Prince Purple Rain film and lead vocalist in the girl group Apollonia 6 She was one of several female artists who benefited of Prince's involvement during the 1980s. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter part of the 1970s. This included an appearance on CHiPS. Kotero was the female lead for Prince's Purple Rain in 1984 (at which point he had changed the name of her). The same year, she took over Vanity as a member of the trio Vanity 6 as well as performed alongside their name Apollonia 6 in the film. Her performance had more influence on the charts by being Prince's partner in Take Me with You, which was a duet in his soundtrack. Kotero was able to break up with Prince after the two fell out over the future of Apollonia 6. The actress was featured in numerous small films, including the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon (which she declined) as well as landing the role of Falcon Crest on the Night-Time Drama Falcon Crest from 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album debuted in 1988. However, the R&B/dance tracks were not well received by those who bought music. The album soon vanished. During the following decade, Apollonia continued to perform as an actress (if she was a bit off the radar) as well as a couple of TV roles, movies and an exercise video. In 1997, Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish called Stay With me. In later years, after returning to school and receiving a degree for filmmaking she started her own production company. The most prominent roles she has played include the role she played in Purple Rain and as the singer for the girl group Apollonia 6 Solo and group albums include Red Light Romeo, Mismatch, A Different Dream, Same Dream, and Since I Fell for You. Kotero has also acted as an actress and has been in many television shows including CHiPs Fantasy Island Tales of the Gold Monkey Knight Rider Matt Houston Falcon Crest among many others. Along with Purple Rain, Kotero has appeared in numerous movies. Her popular films are Back To Back Black Magic Woman La Donna di una Sera and Cattive Ragazze. She has also appeared as model in music videos by musicians like Ray Parker Jr. Kotero was also an entrepreneur who created Kotero Entertainment an entertainment company that specializes in multimedia entertainment company.
