Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor who is well known for his part in the television show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. In his first years of college Meloni became interested in acting. Then he studied at his home institution, the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been in the television and film industry, but it was his smaller-screen roles which gained him fame as well as a large following. This is not surprising since he has been able grab people's attention with his characters on both side of the legal system. The first show he worked on was a television serial, but he later played as a detective with the NYPD. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he has received multiple nominations for prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. One of his most striking face features is thought to have been the piercing blue eye that has helped him portray characters who appear rough and fascinating. The actor was featured as one of People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
